Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRS)
The Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) are new UK Government requirements that will improve how social housing tenants can access information about how their homes and services are managed.
Key points:
- From October 2026, housing associations will be required to publish key information about how we operate, the services we provide, and how we are performing.
- From April 2027, tenants will also have the right to request information and receive a response within set timescales.
CHA is committed to being open, transparent and accountable to our tenants and communities.
As part of our commitment to meeting the requirements of STAIRS, we are reviewing all information we publish and are updating our website accordingly. The new website will be launched before the end of October 2026 and will provide improved access to information for our customers and stakeholders.
In the meantime, much of this information can already be found across our current website, including our annual reports, value for money statements and tenant information.
