Join Our Board
Voluntary Board Member Opportunity
Are you passionate about community development and ready to use your skills to shape the future of a successful local organisation?
Crosby Housing Association (CHA) is seeking new Board Members to help guide and grow our work. We’re looking for people who care deeply about making a difference, can think strategically, and bring valuable experience or insight to the table — whether from professional, voluntary, or lived experience.
CHA is a community-based housing association located in South Sefton. We manage just over 440 properties, mainly in Seaforth, Litherland and Waterloo, and we’re proud to provide affordable, high-quality housing and excellent services to our tenants. We also have a specialist team supporting people with mental ill health to find sustainable accommodation.
We play an active role in our neighbourhoods, working with partners to improve local communities. We’re a progressive and caring organisation that values its residents, staff, and partners — and we’re committed to using our resources to benefit the people we serve.
Diversity and Inclusion
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive Board. We warmly welcome applications from women, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities. Your lived experience and unique perspective are valued here.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking individuals with a proactive mindset and a passion for making a difference. You’ll help set the direction of the organisation and identify opportunities for growth and improvement, especially during times of financial challenge.
To strengthen our Board’s skillset, we particularly welcome applicants with experience in:
- Finance
- Governance
- Marketing and Communications
You don’t need previous board experience — if you bring relevant skills, insight, and a commitment to our values, we’ll support you to succeed. We offer induction, mentoring, and ongoing development to help you thrive in your role.
Time Commitment and Accessibility
Board members attend around 10 meetings per year, each lasting up to 2 hours, plus development sessions and ambassadorial events (approx. 2 days per year). We offer remote access to meetings to ensure travel is not a barrier to participation.
This is a voluntary role, and while no remuneration is paid, reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Interested?
If you’d like an informal chat about the role, our Chief Executive Mandy Elliott would be happy to speak with you. Please contact Hannah Crosbie, HR & Governance Manager, on 0151 920 7300 or email hannah.crosbie@crosby-ha.org.uk to arrange a conversation.
